There are two main areas for performing procedure reports – Open > Procedures and File > QuickReports. If you are only needing to view a list of procedures without/before exporting any data, going through Open > Procedures will be faster. If you need to print or export the report, File > QuickReports may be more suitable. Reports may also be run in a number of other areas of Genie, such as the Patient list, if required.
Before you begin
As with any report in Genie, the accuracy of a procedure report will depend on the consistency of data entry in procedure records.
Please see the instructions below for how to begin your search, either through Open > Procedures or File > QuickReports. Components of the below reports can be combined to create more complex reports by using the Add Line button or the Query Selection button to further refine the search data. For more information, please refer to the article on Using QuickReports.
Open > Procedures
- Navigate to Open > Procedures
- Select the magnifying glass
icon in the top left corner
File > QuickReports
- Navigate to File > QuickReports
- Select the [Procedures] table
- Select the Query button
Find procedures performed by a particular provider
Note: If using Open > Procedures, simply click on the Select option, then choose the name of the provider whose procedures you wish to display from the drop-down list and these will be listed in the area below.
- Expand [Procedures]
- Select the Provider field
- Set the Comparison as is equal to
- Enter the Value as the provider’s name as it appears in the log in window (You can check this through File > Add or Change User). Note: you may alternatively use the ‘contains’ Comparison and enter the doctor’s first name or surname in Steps 3-4.
- Before you run the search, your Query window should look as follows:
- Click the Query button
This should load all procedures for the specified provider so that you can generate the report by following the instructions in the Using QuickReports article. This data can further be customised by searching on different fields such as Anaesthetist, Assistant, or Paediatrician.
Finding procedures in a certain date range
- Expand [Procedures]
- Select the ProcedureDate field
- Select the Comparison is greater than or equal to
- Enter the Value as the start date of your search in dd/mm/yyyy format
- Click the Add Line button
- Change the Comparison to is less than or equal to
- Enter the Value as the end date of your search in dd/mm/yyyy format
- Before you run the search, your Query window should look as follows:
- Click the Query button
This should load all procedures in the specified date range so that you can generate the report by following the instructions in the Using QuickReports article. This data can further be customised by searching on different fields such as DischargeDate.
Find procedures with a particular name
- Expand [Procedures]
- Select the ProcedureName field
- Set the Comparison as is equal to
- Enter the Value as the name of the procedure e.g. Glaucoma Iridectomy
- Note: you may alternatively use the contains Comparison and enter a general search term for Steps 3-4. This can be beneficial if data is not entered consistently, or a procedure has numerous components, e.g. Rhinoplasty + Face Lift. Using contains means that both procedures called Rhinoplasty + Face Lift or Rhinoplasty are found
- Before you run the search, your Query window should look as follows:
- Click the Query button
This should load all procedures with this name so that you can generate the report by following the instructions in the Using QuickReports article. You can further customise this report by choosing by searching for several procedure names using the Add Line button.
Find procedures at a particular hospital
- Expand [Procedures]
- Select the Hospital field
- Set the Comparison to is equal to
- Enter the Value as the hospital name, as entered in the Procedure window/Appointment Book e.g. Sacred Heart Hospital
- Before you run the search, your Query window should look as follows:
- Click the Query button
This should load all procedures with this name so that you can generate the report by following the instructions in the Using QuickReports article.
- Expand [Procedures]
- Select the PendingAppt field
- Set the Comparison to is equal to
- Enter the Value as True
- Before you run the search, your Query window should look as follows:
- Click the Query button
This should load all procedures for that are set as pending so that you can generate the report by following the instructions in the Using QuickReports article.
