    Hi Glenn,

    It would be useful to know a bit more about the practice configuration.  Is the practice planning on sharing resources between locations?  Would doctors and admin staff be working from both locations or would they be independent of each other?  Similarly would the patients be likely to be attending both locations?  Finally if staff are being shared would they need access to both systems simultaneously?

    Curious as how you went with this as we are running Genie over a site to site VPN currently and having poor performance at the remote site. Any ideas?

    Hi Glenn,

    Were using a "VPN" set up with Unifi Ubiquiti hardware, with the server on the main site and an off-site backup NAS. The leading site has a static business 100/40 Mbps connection, while the off-site has a DHCP VDSL2 (Home) connection.

    Main Site -Genie Server/9 clients/printers/fax/NAS(File server) -> Unifi 24 port switch -> Unifi Secure Gateway Pro -> Business Modem

    <--INTERNET-->

    Off-site (Home) DrayTek Vigor VDSL modem -> Unifi Secure Gateway 3 -> Unifi 16 port switch -> NAS / 2 Genie clients / printer.

    As the admin, I can access all systems on both networks. Every night we backup the Onsite NAS to the off-site NAS. I do all the network control with an Unifi cloud key Gen2 at the main site. Both local networks are connected as one big network. With the right permissions, you can access every device on both networks. (File server, printers etc.)

    This way, I check backups, server status and updates from home and my wife (GP principal) logs in from home and works with Genie like she is on-site.

    Hope this info is of any use.

    Jan.
