When does this error appear?
This error will appear when attempting to transmit a claim to Medicare.
What does this error mean?
You are trying to transmit an item that has a referral attached, however, the referral issue date is incorrectly listed as after the date of service.
How do I resolve this error?
- Click OK out of the error message and locate the problem patient you are trying to transmit.
- Open the patient's demographics
window and double-click the current referring doctor to open the referral details.
- Check the Date Issued field and change this to the correct date (i.e. on or before the service date).
In the example above, the user erroneously put the Date Issued year as 2023 instead of 2022, putting the issue date after the service date. - After changing the Date Issued date, click Save, then Save again. Attempt to transmit your claim once again.
