This error indicates that the PSI store file on your local machine is corrupt. The PSI store is used in Genie v9.4.5 and below to communicate with Medicare Online.
To permanently resolve this issue, update to Genie v9.4.6 before 13 March 2022 to connect your practice with Medicare Web Services.
If you have not updated to Genie v9.4.6 to resolve this issue, please follow the below instructions.
The error is occurring on one computer
- Navigate to Help > About Genie (Windows) or Genie Client > About Genie Client (Mac).
- Hold down the Alt (Windows) / Option (Mac) key on your keyboard and click the Printer
icon. This will open a file browser with a Client_XXX folder highlighted.
- Double-click on the Client folder, then double-click on the HIC Online folder within it.
- With this file browser still open, navigate back to Genie and File > Quit (Windows) or Genie Client > Quit Genie Client (Mac).
- Once Genie has been closed, open the file browser and delete the file named GEN1XXXX.psi.
- Restart Genie and log back in, then try using Medicare Online functionality once again.
The error is occurring on all computers
- Quit the Genie Server application (or stop the service) at a time when every user can log out of Genie.
- Follow the steps to "Manually delete 4D preferences" on the server machine using our Delete 4D Preferences guide.
- Restart Genie Server.
- "Manually delete 4D preferences" on each client machine at the practice, then restart your Genie Client and reconnect to the server.
- Log back in and try using Medicare Online functionality once again.
The error is still occurring
To remove the dependency on the PSI store, update to Genie v9.4.6 and connect your practice with Medicare Web Services.
