The Genie cloud adapter is responsible for connecting your practice to Medicare Web Services. If the cloud adapter is not online, you may have trouble transmitting claims through to Medicare.
In order to minimise disruption to your claiming workflows, there is a process that runs every ten minutes in the background of Genie that will check to see if the cloud adapter is running. If it detects that the adapter is not running, it will attempt to restart it automatically. If this process fails to automatically restart the cloud adapter, the Genie administrator will receive the following task.
This task can be viewed from the navigation palette (either to the right or at the bottom of your Genie application), or from Open > Tasks.
As the task suggests, you should attempt to manually restart the cloud adapter by navigating to File > Cloud Adapter > Start.
If the cloud adapter was able to be restarted (manually or automatically), the task will be updated and automatically Completed.
