In Genie v9.4.6 and above, your practice will now be connected to Medicare Web Services. While this will mostly not effect your daily workflows, there is a slight change in how you can transmit stored patient claims. You will still be able to transmit patient claims either at the time of invoicing or at a later time, however, you will now need to transmit stored patient claims individually through to Medicare, rather than in a stored batch.
When creating your patient claims, you will notice that the "Later" option now says (Hold) instead of (Batch).
To send any patient claims that were held for later transmission, navigate to File > Maintenance and Reports > Daily > Patient Claims Transmission.
Click the button in the top-left and you will see a list of all stored patient claims that have not yet been transmitted. Simply highlight each claim individually and click the Transmit button to send these through to Medicare for evaluation.
Any claims that are highlighted in red will need to be deleted and recreated from the patient's account history. Please follow our article on creating patient claims for more information.
