When a drug from the MIMS Prescribing Data is selected to be prescribed, Genie performs allergy, drug interaction and pregnancy checks on the drug. If an interaction with another drug in the patient's current medication list is found, you will receive an interaction alert depending on the severity of your drug interaction level checking.
Additionally, if the patient is marked as allergic to a medication (or ingredient), or marked as pregnant, an alert similar to the one below will appear.
To override these alerts, simply click Prescribe if you believe the interaction is not clinically significant.
Edit my drug interaction level
You can edit the level of drug interaction Genie will alert you for when prescribing by selecting the Modify button next to the interaction alert at the top of the prescribing window.
Alternatively you can modify this in File > User Preferences > Clinical by moving the slider between 0 (not established) and 5 (severe only).
