If the quote that you created for a surgical procedure is still accurate at the time of invoicing (i.e. the item numbers have not changed due to complications that arose during the procedure), you can create a standard invoice directly from the Quotes window.
Open the quote
If you don't already have the quote open, you can access the Quotes window through two different areas in Genie:
- From the appointment book
With a patient's surgical appointment highlighted, click the procedure icon.
Note: This will create a new procedure if there is no existing procedure linked to that appointment.
- From the clinical window
In a patient's clinical file, double-click on an existing procedure or go to Tools > Add Procedure to create a new procedure.
Create the invoice
In the Quotes tab of the procedure, click the Quote Actions drop-down in the bottom-left. Choose the Transfer Quote to Invoice option and a new invoice window will open with all items automatically added.
In Genie v9.3.6 and below you will need to use the Invoice button instead.
Assign the account holder in the top-left of the invoice (e.g. Self, Bulk Bill, Health Fund, etc.) and apply any deposits to the invoice using the button.
If you are needing to create an inpatient medical claim for the patient through ECLIPSE, you will need to manually transfer the item numbers to an IMC invoice using the Billing > IMC Invoice Wizard workflow.
