If you have not already added your medical practitioners your practice as Organisation Maintenance Officers (OMOs), you will need to ensure that they are linked to your organisation. To do this, you will need their HPI-I (Healthcare Provider Identifier - Individual) number.
If your practitioners are registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency), they will already have an HPI-I.
Who does this step?
The registering for an HPI-I will need to be done by the medical practitioner themselves.
Linking your providers to your organisation through HPOS (Health Professional Online Services) must be done by either the Responsible Officer (RO) or an Organisation Maintenance Officer (OMO) of the organisation.
Registering for an HPI-I
If you are not registered with AHPRA, you will need to register for an HPI-I.
Linking your providers to your organisation
- Login to HPOS through PRODA;
- Navigate to My programs > Healthcare Identifiers and My Health Record > Manage existing records;
- Select your organisation from the list;
- Within My organisation details, go to the HPI-I Links tab;
- Click the Manage authorisation links hyperlink;
- Enter in the unique HPI-I for your provider;
- Click Submit, repeating for any additional providers you may need to link.
