If you work in a rheumatology practice and use the rheumatology module extensively, you may notice some exciting changes in this area when you update to Genie version 9.3.9. In previous versions of Genie, using and editing the limited PBS forms in Genie was a difficult and arduous task. In Genie v9.3.9 and above, all current and new rheumatology PBS forms will be automatically available for you as Custom Forms!
What are the changes in Genie v9.3.9?
Once you have completed your update to v9.3.9, the first user to open Tools > Rheumatology in a patient's clinical file will receive the below progress bar as Genie installs the templates.
Once the install finishes, you can continue to use the drop-down as in previous versions, but now you will have the choice of all new and current forms!
These forms are downloaded directly into your Genie and made available as Custom Forms. As the Custom Forms are 64-bit compatible, this change is a part of our overarching goal to become a 64-bit application.
How do I preview and print the form?
The best thing about this change is that the forms are easily accessible and able to be customised if necessary. Choose the appropriate form from the drop-down then click the button.
This will open the template in the Custom Forms window. If you are happy with how the template looks, you can click the printer icon in the top-left to print your form.
You can alternatively view these forms by clicking on the Merged Letters icon in your Appointment Book / Patient List, then navigating to the Rheumatology Templates drop-down.
What if a new PBS form is introduced?
Once a new PBS form is introduced, we will add this into the Rheumatology Templates section in Special > Software Updates > Forms. You can access this section directly from the rheumatology module by clicking on the button.
Check the box on the left next to the new template, then click Install 1 Item and this form will then automatically appear in the Select Form drop-down.
What if I want to create my own form?
You can create your own form by navigating to the Merged Letters window, then choosing the Custom Form option on the right to Add a Template. Create your template, ensuring that the Category at the top is set to Rheumatology Forms.
