    I wrote to Genie:

    Since upgrading Genie to 9.3.7 over the weekend, every time we try to assign an account holder we get an error.
    Genie then becomes unstable and needs to be restarted. I did a database verification and there are no errors. We have done a reboot of the computer and the database with no change.
    Currently we cannot bill any patients because of this error.

     

    Genie Wrote Back:

    We are aware of an issue with adding Account Holders in Genie v9.3.7, which is currently being investigated with our Development Team. Once we have an update for you, we will be in touch to advise how this can be rectified. 

    My suggestion: Maybe hold off on updating until this issue is sorted.

    thanks Michael for sharing.

    Genie, if there are issues with any version and practices can benefit from waiting to update.  Would you please put out a warning.

    Thanks Michael Knight and Debra Hall, we can confirm that this is an isolated issue and is affecting only a very small percentage of 9.3.7 practices.

    Problem solved within 4 days.

    I was provided with an updated (or maybe backdated) Genie.4DC file which patched the problem. 

    Working fine now, for me. (but I don't use Genie email - which on a different page seems to be a bigger issue for some people)
