If you are running Genie v9.3.5 or above, you may noticed a column in your Appointment Book called 'Time with Dr'.
The time is triggered if all the following prerequisites are met:
- The clinical file is opened from the Appointment Book;
- The clinical file is accessed on the same day as the appointment; and
- The clinical file is accessed by the user the patient is booked in to see (i.e. the provider).
The Time with Dr column will display the total time the doctor spent in the clinical file the most recent time it was saved.
This means that if you spend 20 minutes in a patient file, the Time with Dr will display as 20m. Should you go back into the file for 5 seconds quickly to check something, the Time with Dr column will update to 5s.
Each time you save out of the patient file, the time is recorded in Genie under the [ApptTimingEvent] table, meaning the original time you spent with the patient has not been lost and you can report on this at a later time.
