Genie likes to be helpful but sometimes its help isn't desired! In order to stop Genie auto-capitalising letters in a surname (e.g. changing Old Macdonald to Old MacDonald), you will need enter the desired text into the surname text field then hold down the Alt/Option key on your keyboard before clicking out of the text box.
By holding down the Alt/Option key you are telling Genie you don't need its help and will happily keep the formatting you've typed yourself.
