There are two ways to email and image from a patient file. For option 1, you will need to have Genie Email Module configured.
1. Create a Referral Reply Letter and address it to the patient or someone in your Address Book. Using the options in the Expressions tab, select the option for Attachments. You will be presented with a list of eligible attachments from the patients Clinical Record. Select your chosen file and this will be added to your letter. You can also add in any relevant text you would like to include. When you're happy with the letter, select the Email button at the top of the screen and choose your method of sending (in body or as attachment). Click OK and Genie will open a new email for you with the letter in the body or as an attachment depending on what you selected. When you're happy with the email, simply hit send.
2. Open the Clinical Record and open the Image Browser for the patient. Select the image and then click the blue link at the top of the window, which will open a file browser.
You can then add this image to an email from Open> Email if you have the Email Module configured, or simply attach it to an email external to Genie and send it that way.
It is important to mention that email is not a secure method of communication and as such the sending of sensitive information via email is not advised. Medically sensitive information should be sent using a secure third-party correspondence program.
