What is the issue?
We are aware of an issue in Genie version 9.3 and above wherein PDF content in outgoing letters is not generating correctly in the following circumstance:
- Genie Server is running as a Service, and
- Third-party electronic correspondence software (Medical Objects, HealthLink, Argus, etc.) is installed on your server machine.
This is due to a known bug within the platform Genie is built on, 4D. While there is an updated version of 4D available which resolves the issue, we are unable to upgrade to this 4D version until we are fully 64-bit compatible.
What is the workaround?
- Run the Genie Server as an application instead of a Service, or
- Move the third-party electronic correspondence software to a Client machine on your network.
You may require the assistance of your IT provider or third-party software support to complete these workarounds.
