If you receive pathology and radiology results from various different laboratories, it's likely that the results may come through in different file types. Depending on the laboratory, there may also be additional file content such as HTML, RTF, or PDF.
To view your results, you will first need to navigate to Open> Pathology and Radiology where you will receive the following window:
You will then need to double click on each result file to open them.
HTML Content
If your imported result has HTML content, you will see a button under Make Letter that will switch between Show Text or Show HTML. Clicking either of these buttons will change the preview format to either text or the HTML content.
If you select Show Text, the file will change into a text document that may simply look like a page of code. You can then simply change it back by choosing Show HTML.
PDF Content
If your imported result has PDF content, you will see a button under Make Letter that will switch between Show Text or Show PDF. Clicking either of these buttons will change the preview format to either text or the PDF content.
If you select Show Text, the file will change into a text document that may simply look like a page of code. You can then simply change it back by choosing Show PDF.
RTF Content
Below the Make Letter button in the Result window, you will see an Open RTF button. If you select this, it will open the file in the application set as your default for .rtf file types. This may be Microsoft Word.
If your result contains RTF content, Genie may take 3-4 seconds to load the result. While it is loading, you will see the below progress bar appear on your screen.
Open RTF is also available in the patient's Clinical Window once the result has been linked to the patient. Simply open the patient's Clinical Window and locate the RTF result in the patient's Contacts list. Right click on this result and Open RTF will be an option. Select this and your default application will open the .rtf file for you (if the file contains .rtf content).
