Genie has made it easy to keep track of your Pathology and Radiology requests using the Investigations Audit. The Investigations Audit tracks all printed Pathology and Radiology requests and even allows you to see if the requests have been fulfilled.
Before you begin
To access the Investigation Audit, navigate to Open > Investigations Audit. You will be presented with a window similar to the below:
Requests for both Pathology and Radiology will remain in the Investigations Audit for a period of 12 months. After this time, they will need to be recreated if you wish to print them again.
The search icon will allow you to quickly search through the list for a particular request.
The printer icon will bring up a Report Builder window where you can choose which columns you wish to include in the report.
The All drop downs will allow you to sort by a particular requester or request type.
Double clicking on a request will allow you to make some edits to the request.
You can also reprint the request from this window using the Reprint button at the bottom.
The Open Patient button will open the Clinical Record for this patient
Please note: The Audit only checks through the Pathology requests and not Radiology requests so all Radiology requests will need to be tracked manually.
The Audit will search through your data for results that match the request date of your initial request.
Selecting the Audit button will prompt you with the following alert:
Select OK and Genie will scan through your requests. Once it is finished you will receive an alert that the audit is complete. You should then only be left with the requests that have not been completed.
If there are multiple requests and results for the same day Genie will be unable to match them automatically. You would then be prompted with a window allowing you to select the appropriate result.
In this window the name of the request is listed in the top test box. The various results which were received with the same request date are listed in the table. If the request does match a result then you should select the Delete Request button. This will not automatically remove the request from the Investigations Audit window. Instead Genie will cycle through this window 10 times before it then clears the requests from the audit list. Alternatively, if you select the Stop Audit button the requests will also be removed from the list.
Alt+clicking on the Audit button it will auto-match the requests to results for you. It ignores the type of test that was ordered and marries results based on date of request and patient.
