If you use ICPC or ICD Coding, then you may be interested to know that these codes can be quickly and easily downloaded into your Genie data. This article outlines the process for configuring and installing these codes.
Before you begin
International Classification of Primary Care (ICPC) Coding is used predominantly by General Practitioners. International Classification of Diseases (ICD) Coding is used predominantly by procedural specialists. Before proceeding to configure and install the appropriate disease coding, you will need to confirm which is appropriate to you.
For assistance with the installation, please contact Genie Support.

To Map the codes in Genie, follow these steps:

- This list will default to the Current Problems list. It is also possible to select the option to map Past
History, Vaccinations, Presenting Problems and Procedures. - The list displays all diseases and conditions for which an ICPC-2 code is not found.
- By double clicking on an item on the left, Genie will display a list of possible matching ICPC terms.
- Double‐click on the item on the item on the right to assign the ICPC code to all matching records for the chosen Current Problem, Past History, Vaccination, Presenting Problem or Procedure.
