Keeping on top of all the things you need to collate before a patient's procedure can be difficult. To save you time and energy, Genie has an in-built system called a Pre-Op Notifications Check, which will give you an overview of what has been confirmed for your upcoming procedures.
Before you begin
The information in the Pre-Op Notification Check is based on your existing Procedure Record. If you aren't familiar with the Procedure Record section of Genie, you may wish to first review our article on Adding Procedure Records
Accessing the Pre-Op Notifications Check
The Pre-Op Notifications Check can be accessed from the Appointment Book screen by navigating to Appt > Pre-Op Notifications Check.
The Pre-Op Notifications Check will show you a list of Procedures that are booked for the day you are currently viewing in the calendar.
Where the Information Comes From
The Pre-Op Notifications Check pulls information from the Procedure Records that are scheduled for the day you are currently on in the Appointment Book.
Patient
This is simply the patient who the Procedure Record is attached to. The name will show as it is recorded in the patient's demographics.
Procedure
The Procedure is the procedure name as it is recorded in the Procedure Record.
Date
This is the date recorded in the Procedure Record.
Hospital
This check box will be marked if Notified has been ticked next to Hospital in the Procedure Record.
Consent
Consent will be ticked if Consent has been signed is ticked in the Procedure Record.
Assistant
Assistant will be ticked if Notified has been ticked next to Assistant in the Procedure Record.
Anaesthetist
Anaesthetist will be ticked if Notified has been ticked next to Anaesthetist in the Procedure Record.
Confirmed
Confirmed will be ticked if Confirmed with Patient/Paperwork Sent is ticked in the Procedure Record.
Paed
Paed will be ticked if Notified has been ticked next to Paediatrician in the Procedure Record. Please note that Paediatrician will only be available in practices who have their Practice Type set as GP or Obs/Gyn/IVF.
Approved
Approved will be ticked if Approved by 3rd Party has been ticked in the Procedure Record.
Prepaid
Prepaid will be ticked if Prepayment Received is ticked in the Procedure Record.
