If you are utilising the SMS module within Genie you may be doing so in a number of ways. If you're sending appointment confirmation texts you will already be aware of the ability to view a patient's response in the appointment book. That's only one way you can see a patient's reply though (and only for your appointment reminders) so it's worthwhile making sure you're aware of the other methods you can utilise.
The daily report is a feature in the SMS Reminders window that will provide you with a report for all reminders sent for a specified day. The Daily Report can be run by going to Appts > SMS Reminders > Daily Report.
You should then choose the day from the calendar in which the reminders were sent. For example if your reminders are set to go out 2 days in advance and you want to see the replies for Wednesday you would select Monday's date. A PDF document of the report will then be generated.

As you can see in the above example the generated report will contain the total number of messages sent, replies received and credits used for the selected day. In addition it will summarise the message that was sent and to whom as well as show the content of any replies received from the patient.
You may find this report useful if a patient has sent a lengthy reply which is appearing truncated in the appointment book. It will also be useful for tracking replies from SMS marketing campaigns that aren't associated with an appointment.
As the name suggests the Monthly Report offers a summary of the SMS reminders sent for the selected month. To run the Monthly Report, go to Appts > SMS Reminders > Monthly Report. There are two options available when running this report - 'Summary' and 'Detail'.
The Summary option will provide you with a total amount of messages sent and replies received for the selected month in an alert window similar to the below example:
The Detailed report will generate a list of all reminders sent and replies received for the given month. The report is quite similar to the Daily Report however unlike the daily report the patient's mobile number nor the content of the sent message will be displayed. This report will be generated as a PDF document which will automatically launch upon making your selections.
Sample Monthly Report:
The patient SMS History is a newer feature that is available in Genie version 8.8.7 and above. It has been created to provide the ability to view all SMS correspondence sent and received for individual patients (including appointment, recall, result and marketing texts). The history will show the content of the message, the amount of credits used to send it as well as the mobile number the message was sent to.
This can be accessed by clicking the SMS icon at the top of the patient's clinical window and selecting the option to 'Show SMS History'.
